The service you need
Heat pumps are very user friendly, and are very much in the "set it and forget it" category. Just determine your ideal indoor temperature and let the system do the work. Heat pumps do require scheduled maintenance to get the longest life span of your unit. These check ups are simple and inexpensive.
- Annual and Bi-annual service
- Inspect ducts (if applicable), filters, blower and indoor coil for dirt or other obstructions
- straighten any bent fins, check for any leaks, lubricate motors and belts and check for tightness and any wear
- remove debris from drain holes
- confirm optimal operation of thermostat
The best times to have a technician go over your system are in the fall before the cold winter season and in the springs before the hot AC season.
